Do I need to be experienced?

Absolutely not! Many of our guests are first-timers.
You do need to be able to swim, but no prior kayaking or paddleboarding experience is required.

Before you get on the water, your instructor will provide a quick land-based lesson and help you feel comfortable with your equipment, paddle technique, and on-water safety.

Are life jackets (PFDs) required?

Yes. Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) are required by law and must be worn at all times while kayaking or paddleboarding.
We provide properly fitted Coast Guard–approved PFDs for every participant.

Are leashes required for paddleboarding?

Yes. Paddleboard leashes are provided and required to be worn for your safety.
A leash keeps you connected to your board if you fall — your board is your biggest flotation device.

What safety equipment is included?

We provide:

  • Coast Guard–approved PFDs (life jackets)

  • Paddleboard leashes

  • Paddles

  • Kayaks or paddleboards appropriate for your skill level

  • Safety briefing and on-water instruction

Your guide will also carry basic safety equipment appropriate for the environment.

What should I bring?

Dress as if you’re going to the beach. Recommended items include:

  • Swimsuit, shorts, or athletic clothing

  • Sunscreen, hat, or visor

  • Bug repellent

  • Towel

  • Plenty of water or hydrating beverages

  • Waterproof or disposable camera in a zip-top bag

  • Any personal emergency medications (e.g., EpiPen, inhaler)

SUP is typically done barefoot, but water shoes are welcome.

Please leave valuables at home or locked in your car. You may secure your car keys with our guide while you paddle.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require you to cancel 48 hours in advance to receive a refund. Our guides are scheduled based on booked reservations.

What about inclement weather?

Your safety is our priority.
If conditions are unsafe — including lightning, strong winds, dangerous tides, or rough seas — we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule your activity at any time.

If we must cancel due to weather, you will receive a voucher for the full value of your booking or rental.

Any other requirements?

To participate, guests must:

  • Be able to swim

  • Follow all safety instructions from guides

  • Wear a PFD for the entire duration of the activity

  • Wear a leash on paddleboards

  • Sign a waiver before participating

Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
